Producer / Engineer
I started playing guitar at 16 and entered the United States Air Force as an avionics technician fixing electronics on F-15 fighter jets at the age of 20. In 2006, I decided to switch careers as a computer technician to follow my passion of recording music. I attended SAE Institute in New York to study audio engineering, and after graduating, I became a staff engineer at Bennett Studios in Englewood, NJ. It was there I worked with such legendary acts as Tony Bennett, Harry Belafonte, Anita Baker, John McEuen and Phil Ramone. In 2009, I engineered Steve Martin's debut album The Crow: New Songs for the 5-String Banjo, which won a Grammy for Best Bluegrass Album the following year.
In 2011, I relocated to Los Angeles, where I taught at SAE Institute in Hollywood for four years, developing my own course curriculums in electronics, Pro Tools, consoles, etc. and discovering my love of teaching and inspiring students of all levels.
I chose to settle in Nashville in 2016 for its focus on live music in a vibrant and creative community, purchasing a 10-acre property close to the heart of Music City, so that I can build my own studio, Firefly Sound. I designed the studio’s control room based on the acoustic principles of Bennett,Studios, along with my working knowledge and experience of sound acoustics. By working in my own studio, my goal is to help musicians, producers and artists bring the vision of their music to life, from recording to production.
